Kelsea Ballerini has dropped a new single, \u201cI Sit in Parks.\u201d The vulnerable, contemplative song comes ahead of her upcoming EP, Mount Pleasant<\/em>, set for release Nov. 14.<\/p>\n The nostalgic single sees Ballerini focusing what she wants but may never have. \u201cI sit in parks\/ It breaks my heart \u2018cause I see just how far I am\/ From the things that I want,\u201d she sings on the reflective ballad. \u201cBy now is it a lucid dream\/ Is it my fault for chasing things\/ A body clock doesn\u2019t wait for\/ I did the damn tour\/ It\u2019s what I wanted, what I got\/ I spun around and then I stopped\/ And wondered if I missed the mark?\u201d She later invokes Rolling Stone<\/em>, singing, \u201cBut Rolling Stone says I\u2019m on the right road.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWelcome to the park, where daydreaming and crash outs, \u2018what a life\u2019 and \u2018what now?,\u2019 wandering and wondering\u2026are all at play,\u201d she noted on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n Mount Pleasant<\/em> will feature six songs, including \u201cI Sit in Parks.\u201d The EP\u2019s title seems to refer to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, where the Netflix series Outer Banks<\/em> is filmed. Earlier this fall, Ballerini and Outer Banks<\/em> star Chase Stokes confirmed they were ending their relationship after more than two years together. That life change may have inspired Mount Pleasant<\/em>\u2018s tracks.<\/p>\n \u201cI have always made records \u2013 whether songs, EPs or albums \u2013 to capture a moment in time,\u201d Ballerini said in a statement. \u201cMount Pleasant\u00a0<\/em>is a collection of six songs I\u2019ve written throughout the summer, marking a chapter of heavy self-examination, longing, and stepping further into who I am as a 32-year old woman.\u201d<\/p>\n Ballerini\u2019s last album, Patterns<\/em>, arrived last October. In January, she embarked on her first headlining arena tour<\/a> in support of the LP.
