Australian conservationist Robert Irwin<\/strong> revealed that he \u201calmost died\u201d during the Dancing with the Stars (DWTS<\/strong>) \u201cRock & Roll Hall of Fame Night\u201d episode. He said that he \u201ccouldn\u2019t breathe\u201d after he finished his performance.<\/p>\n During Week 8 of \u201cDancing with the Stars\u201d Season 34, Robert Irwin had a terrifying moment when he accidentally inhaled a piece of confetti while performing in the team dance.<\/p>\n \u201cI almost died tonight,\u201d Irwin told Entertainment Tonight<\/a> in a backstage interview. \u201cI choked on a piece of confetti after the team dance.\u201d Recalling the moment, he said, \u201cI went over to Whitney, and I think they cut away.\u201d<\/p>\n Whitney Carson, Irwin\u2019s pro dance partner, jumped in with visible concern, \u201cYou actually choked?\u201d<\/p>\n The 21-year-old conservationist responded, \u201cI inhaled a piece of confetti. No, I was\u2026 I couldn\u2019t breathe.\u201d He then turned to Carson and explained, \u201cI went over to you and I\u2019m like\u2026\u201d silently enacting himself choking on something. \u201cAnd I just went, \u2018Ugh!\u2019 It just popped out. I\u2019m not even kidding.\u201d<\/p>\n When the interviewer said, \u201cThank goodness. Robert Irwin is still here with us and you\u2019ll be dancing next week,\u201d to which Irwin replied, \u201cI nearly wasn\u2019t.\u201d Carson admitted that she was unaware of the incident at the time. However, said that she would\u2019ve been a \u201cshield\u201d to protect him if she had known.<\/p>\n Despite the scare, Irwin and Carson later continued to deliver a strong performance. Their performance of The White Stripes\u2019 \u201cIcky Thump\u201d earned high praise and nearly perfect scores from judges.<\/p>\n At the end of the episode, Danielle Fishel, known for her role in Boy Meets World, and her partner, Pasha Pashkov, were eliminated.
