Meghan Markle<\/a> has been issued a dire warning after news emerged<\/a> that she is making a Hollywood comeback. The Duchess of Sussex sent shockwaves around the world this week after she was spotted filming a new movie in Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry<\/a>\u2019s wife, who quit her acting career eight years ago, was snapped filming at Amazon MGM Studios in Pasadena. Meghan is set to play herself in Jason Orley’s Close Personal Friends, which boasts Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid \u2014 son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid \u2014 and Brit Henry Golding among its cast.<\/p>\n

The film is about two couples\u2014one famous and one not\u2014who meet in Santa Barbara and become fast friends, and Meghan is reportedly going to make a cameo appearance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, a PR expert has issued a warning regarding the Duchess\u2019s return to acting.<\/p>\n

Renae Smith, founder of The Atticism<\/a>, told the Express: \u201cWhat makes it risky is the tone. Will she lean into self-awareness and play an exaggerated, cheeky version of herself?<\/p>\n

\u201cThat could actually work (to a degree) as people love it when celebrities show they can take a joke.<\/p>\n

\u201cOr will she double down on that overly polished, \u2018perfect housewife\u2019 image we saw in the Netflix<\/a> series, or, heaven forbid, the weird podcast version? Because those versions of her have become a bit of a cultural punchline.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Smith warned that if Meghan ends up playing the \u201celevated\u201d and \u201cpolished\u201d version of herself, she would risk getting blasted for being unrelatable.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cIf she goes that route, it\u2019ll only confirm what critics already think: that she\u2019s not relatable and doesn\u2019t get the public mood.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Duchess of Sussex starred as Rachel Zane in seven seasons of the hugely successful Netflix show, which ran from 2011 to 2019.<\/p>\n

However, she left in 2018 after marrying Prince Harry and relocating to the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
