Born from the pain and uncertainty of a loved one\u2019s illness, as the artist recounted in a recent <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/latin\/pablo-alboran-pain-new-album-acting-debut-1236090574\/\">interview with\u00a0<em>Billboard<\/em><\/a>, the album showcases a more mature and determined musician with renewed artistic freedom. Here, Albor\u00e1n takes on the songwriting of all the songs and, for the first time, produces and arranges most of them, experimenting with rhythms like country\/folk (\u201cV\u00e1monos de Aqu\u00ed,\u201d with Indiara Sfair), salsa music (\u201cLa Vida Que Nos Espera\u201d) and merengue (\u201cSi Te Quedas\u201d).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe album opens with \u201cClickbait,\u201d a pop track that critiques the superficiality and fake news of social media, addressing the obsession with fame and \u201clikes.\u201d And continues with the emotional title track, \u201cKM0,\u201d in which he sings about facing a new start after going through a very difficult period in his life. It also features collaborations with Luan Santana (\u201cQu\u00e9 Tal Te Va\u201d), Ana Bel\u00e9n (\u201cInciso\u201d), Vicente Amigo (\u201cPlanta 7,\u201d named after the hospital floor where his relative was located), and Japanese artist Lilas Ikuta (\u201cPerfectos imperfectos\u201d). If its title is any indication, which translates to \u201cbandaid for the heart,\u201d the 14-track set explores love and heartbreak, offering personal and vulnerable songs that can heal the deepest wounds. The Venezuelan singer-songwriter delivers a full-blown pop album sprinkled with heart-wrenching ballads and some tropical tunes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFor example, the bachata-infused \u201cMil Preguntas\u201d is about a girl questioning her boyfriend\u2019s intentions. The country-tinged \u201cOtra Vez,\u201d alongside her artist husband Jay Wheeler, is about making broken promises, and \u201cNo Me Quiero Ir\u201d is a soft-paced merengue. In\u00a0<em>Curita Para El Coraz\u00f3n<\/em>, Zhamira collaborates with Greeicy (\u201ccomo fu\u00e9?\u201d), Noreh (\u201cme hubiese gustado\u201d) and KENNY (\u201cdesvelo\u201d). With the release of \u201cChimba,\u201d a song written and saved for many years by Mu\u00f1oz, Mexico and Colombia come together once again in music and joy. What begins with soft guitars continues with a very danceable rhythm set by trumpets and <em>timbales<\/em>. The tuba also plays a part, adding that Sinaloan touch, while the accordion gives it a vallenato flavor. Instead, she spins haunting falsettos over accordion-laced melodies in the ghostly opener \u201cLa Eternidad.\u201d And then there\u2019s \u201cEsa Fui Yo,\u201d a tender-yet-defiant declaration of love and heartbreak, as she sings, \u201cY cuando te caiste quien te recogi\u00f3, esa fui yo\u201d over a rich cumbia groove, steeped in nostalgia and illuminated by the shimmer of a 12-string guitar. By the time you reach the flashy \u201cDiamantes en mi Boca\u201d or the melancholic closer \u201cContrabando,\u201d her emotional range and high-pitched vocals leave you captivated.
