The documentary took an intimate look at the Walt Disney Company through the eyes of the artists and artisans who create its magic. Besides Renner, Oscar-winning costume designer Mark Bridges and makeup artist Bill Corso were also featured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">However, after the documentary\u2019s release, Zhou received some unexpected feedback. She claimed in a series of Instagram posts that she faced criticism from Renner\u2019s fans who argued that the actor wasn\u2019t actually in the film and that his scenes were AI-generated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cMany Jeremy Renner fans have been attacking me and my team on all platforms, accusing [us] of using another person\u2019s body as if it\u2019s [not] Jeremy\u2019 in our documentary,\u201d she wrote in an Oct. 31 <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQc623Lkp2p\/?img_index=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:post;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">post<\/a>. Refuting the AI allegations, Zhou shared a video of her and Renner driving together.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In a subsequent <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQdcuCMEYXt\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:post;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">post<\/a>, Zhou referred to this group as \u201ctrolls,\u201d claiming their behavior towards her was \u201cgraciously nasty.\u201d Zhou added: \u201cHope the truth will prevail and these troll accounts will be closed.\u201d She included the hashtags #canceljeremyrenner, #closethetrollaccounts, and #stopmisinformation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Then, on Nov. 3, Zhou began revealing the extent of her relationship with Renner \u2014 both professionally and romantically.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIt is with deep regret, sadness, and disappointment that I am compelled to share a truth I have been holding inside for too long,\u201d she began a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQnHCg2Egr-\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:post;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI feel profound despair that a project created to uplift below-the-line artists and to celebrate the history of one of the world\u2019s most beloved companies, Disney, has been damaged by online trolling and by the misconduct of Jeremy Renner,\u201d she claimed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Zhou went on to say that her romantic relationship with Renner started after he sent her \u201cpersonal and intimate photographs of himself,\u201d adding, \u201cHe convinced me of his sincerity, saying he had been single for a long time and open to a long-term relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In a different <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQp5OFpAayf\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:post;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">post<\/a>, she clarified that the explicit photos she received from Jenner were how she was introduced to him. She wrote the messages were unsolicited were sent to her via DM and WhatsApp in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cAfter having calls and text discussions, he allured me and sold me [he\u2019s] looking for a relation and of course seduced \/ flattered that he was a Hollywood star fantasizing and loving me so much I believed in him \/ the power of love,\u201d she wrote, adding that she then invited him to take part in her documentary and animated feature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Zhou further <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQnHJeyEp9T\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:claimed;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">claimed<\/a> that Renner subsequently entered into written agreements with her Italian production company, Into the Sun films, granting signed consent for the use of his image, likeness, archival material, social-media content, and his foundation in their projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">But after the documentary\u2019s release, Zhou claimed that Renner \u201crefused to make any public promotion\u201d and ignored her public and private pleas for support. She alleged that instead of supporting the project, Renner allowed \u201cfalse information to spread through fan accounts falsely claiming that the documentary was generated by AI and denying any personal relation or professional collaboration.\u201d The 37-year-old director pointed out that current regulations and California law mean Renner would have had to consent to any AI version of himself being used.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Zhou then claimed that when she privately confronted Renner about his behavior, he \u201cthreatened to call immigration\/ICE on me,\u201d an act that \u201cdeeply shocked and frightened\u201d her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She called this behavior \u201cunacceptable and emblematic of the imbalance of power\u201d in the industry, stating that the misinformation and intimidation have caused her personal and reputational harm while undermining the work of all the film\u2019s contributors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Renner has yet to respond to Zhou\u2019s allegations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Besides his role in \u201dChronicles of Disney,&#8221; he was also involved in Zhou\u2019s soon-to-be-released \u201cStardust Future,\u201d an animated film that explores the universe\u2019s history through 2080.
