Renae Smith, founder of PR agency The Atticism<\/a>, criticised the Duchess\u2019s team for making the timing of the announcements appear intentional and described the move as \u201ccalculated and dangerous\u201d.<\/p>\n

The PR specialist told the Express: \u201cI\u2019ve actually always defended her before. I\u2019ve never believed she\u2019s sitting at home with the royal diary open, plotting counter-announcements. But it\u2019s happening so often now that it\u2019s hard to keep calling it a coincidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether intentional or not, someone on her team seems to be tracking royal moments and slotting her headlines in alongside them. It\u2019s starting to look calculated, and that\u2019s dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cIf it is intentional, it\u2019s a bad play. When your public narrative starts to look like it\u2019s competing with someone else\u2019s, you lose control of your own brand.<\/p>\n
