The 1990s rock band 4 Non Blondes is reacting to their recent spike in popularity.<\/p>\n
In a video posted to TikTok<\/a>, the group shared a montage of celebrities participating in the current social media trend set to a mashup of their 1992 hit \u201cWhat\u2019s Up?\u201d and Nicki Minaj<\/a>‘s \u201cBeez in the Trap.\u201d<\/p>\n The song has experienced a resurgence thanks to the TikTok challenge, where two people stand back to back, with one person lip-synching the 4 Non Blondes song while the other sings Minaj’s rap from her 2012 track.<\/p>\n The mashup has been used in over 1.4 million posts, including notable names like Joe Jonas<\/a>, Khlo\u00e9\u00a0Kardashian<\/a>, Madelyn Cline<\/a> and Malala Yousafzai<\/a> \u2014 all of whom appeared in the video shared by the band.<\/p>\n “This song is 30 years old and is number one on the TikTok chart??” the group \u2014 which consists of Dawn Ricardson, Roger Rocha, Linda Perry<\/a>, and Christa Hillhouse \u2014 wrote atop the video.<\/p>\n “TikTok, you’ve given us a very wild welcome,” they captioned the TikTok, adding the mind-blown emoji.<\/p>\n Never miss a story \u2014 sign up for\u00a0PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter<\/a>\u00a0to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer\u200b\u200b, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.<\/strong><\/p>\n The group found fame in the early 1990s, but disbanded after releasing their first and only album, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!, which included \u201cWhat\u2019s Up?” and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.<\/p>\n They reunited this year<\/a>, however, performing together for just the second time since their split at California’s\u00a0BottleRock Napa Valley<\/a>\u00a0music festival in May.<\/p>\n Speaking on\u00a0The Allison Hagendorf Show<\/a>, Perry, the lead singer,\u00a0explained just how the stars aligned for 4 Non Blondes to take the stage together once again.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not [the right time] and I don\u2019t know when it would [be]. It\u2019s more like, honestly, it\u2019s the right time in my head. It\u2019s the right time in my heart,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve been kind of putting that energy out, because I want 2025 to be my year. I want to own this year because I feel like I\u2019ve been planting seeds all over the place and I\u2019m watching my little trees grow.\u201d<\/p>\n Perry, 60, co-founded the band in the late 1980s with bassist Hillhouse, guitarist Shaunna Hall and drummer Wanda Day. However, Day was later replaced by Richardson and Rocha took Hall\u2019s spot.<\/p>\n Perry herself participated in the TikTok trend alongside friend Jennifer Lopez.
