The Rock<\/a> remembers the one request he made to Lorne Michaels when he hosted Saturday Night Live.<\/p>\n Dwayne Johnson introduced himself to the SNL audience for the first time in 2000. Johnson and his WrestleMania 2000 opponents \u2014 Triple H<\/a>, Mick Foley, and The Big Show \u2014 all appeared on the show to promote WWE\u2019s biggest PPV of the year.<\/p>\n The Rock would eventually return to host Saturday Night Live on four different occasions. He also became part of the \u201cfive-timers club\u201d when he hosted SNL for the fifth time in 2017.<\/p>\n Speaking on The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s Awards Chatter<\/a><\/em> podcast, The Great One reflected on hosting SNL for the first time in 2000. He also revealed the request he made to show co-creator Lorne Michaels.<\/p>\n \u201cI got a call from Lorne Michaels, who said, \u2018Hey, I\u2019d love for you to host.\u2019 I was like, \u2018I would love to host.\u2019 And I said, \u2018I have one request that I would ask that you consider.\u2019 Because you\u2019ve got to know your audience, and it\u2019s Lorne Michaels. You don\u2019t want to go in and say, \u2018Hey, here\u2019s my demands!\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019d love for you to consider this.\u2019 He said, \u2018What\u2019s that?\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019d love to do no wrestling skits at all because I feel like that\u2019s kind of low-hanging fruit. I want to do everything else but that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Johnson said Michaels agreed to the request, and the show was a success. This also led to more opportunities, which is something he wanted to do.<\/p>\n Johnson said he got a call from director Stephen Sommers after hosting the show, who pitched the Scorpion King role in The Mummy Returns. Johnson was offered the part, despite having doubts about how he\u2019d fit in.<\/p>\n \u201cBrendan Fraser, at that time, was one of the biggest stars in the world \u2014 he had this throwback look to him, and he was the man \u2014 and I remember thinking, \u2018God, is he okay with this? Because this is his franchise.\u2019 And I remember pulling Stephen aside and I said, \u2018Hey, is Brendan okay with this? Can I call him can?\u2019 He was like, \u2018Not only is he okay with this, but he wants you to be in this.\u2019 It was so awesome, and I\u2019ll never forget that. He could have, at that time, because he had the juice, gone, \u2018I don\u2019t know. Let\u2019s get somebody else. I don\u2019t know if I want The Rock in this, who\u2019s never acted before other than what he\u2019s done in the ring.\u2019 I\u2019ll never forget that.
