But things felt far less fraught on Strictly, where her final season under the Glitterball reached the halfway mark with precious little in the way of drama.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">An enjoyable yet spectacularly unspectacular instalment saw <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/tv\/2025\/11\/03\/strictly-come-dancing-line-up-show-contestants-professionals-judges-2025-results-scores\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:fresh contenders emerge;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">fresh contenders emerge<\/a>, as Vicky and Kai\u2019s Taylor Swift-themed tango fell just one point short of a perfect 40.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Also showing new fire were <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2025\/11\/08\/strictly-star-amber-davies-pleads-for-votes-after-lack\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Amber;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">Amber<\/a> and Nikita, whose sizzling salsa earned them two tens and a gold-plated \u201ca-ma-zing\u201d from Craig. After a hesitant start to the competition, Amber is finally coming into her own \u2013 and could yet blossom into a serious contender.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Surprises were few and far between \u2013 unless Amber\u2019s pi\u00f1ata-meets-dungarees outfit counts, which it should. Then there was the curious case of Harry and the off-green trousers, which looked as though they\u2019d been stitched from Kermit the Frog\u2019s skin. His samba with Karen was all enthusiasm and little technique, but enough to keep him off the bottom of the leaderboard, a spot occupied by La Voix. Still, week by week, the Gladiator\u2019s charm is starting to fade \u2013 and sooner or later, he\u2019ll run out of lives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Was it a Strictly classic? Hardly. But not every Saturday needs to be an all-time great. Rather than a salsa into the unknown, this was a gentle spin through the familiar \u2013 lifted only by Balvinder\u2019s moving Couple\u2019s Choice, a heartfelt tribute to her late mother.
