While it\u2019s no surprise musicians often look to their own experiences for inspiration, some have gone even further, turning landmark events into art<\/a>. The lyrics describe not only the ways accused \u201cwitches\u201d were brutalized, but they also touch on the climate of \u201cfear, guilt, and anxiety\u201d that led to it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n On \u201cCities in Dust,\u201d goth band Siouxsie and the Banshees explored<\/a> the city of Pompeii<\/a>, famous for having been destroyed when the volcano Mount Vesuvius erupted in the year 79 A.D.
