After years of working behind the scenes on Marvel hits like Black Panther<\/em> and Captain America<\/em>, film producer Nate Moore<\/strong> swapped movie sets for the beaches of Fiji to compete on season 49 of Survivor<\/a><\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n For most of the game, Nate was part of the dominant Uli alliance that survived multiple tribe swaps. But his luck ran out when former Uli allies Sage Ahrens-Nichols<\/strong> and Jawan Pitts<\/strong>, who were already eager to jump ship, joined forces with the original Hina tribe. Seeing a chance to weaken the once-powerful Uli core of Nate, Savannah Louie<\/strong>, Sophi Balerdi<\/strong>, and Rizo Velovic<\/strong>, the new majority blindsided Nate, who became the safest target amid fear that idols and advantages would get played.<\/p>\n The Hollywood veteran spoke with Men\u2019s Journal<\/em> via email about how it felt to watch his elimination play out on TV, what he thinks ultimately led to his downfall, and whether he’d be interested in playing Survivor<\/em> again.<\/p>\n Scroll down to read the full exit interview with Nate.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Journal: <\/strong>What was your immediate reaction watching the episode back \u2014 did anything surprise you about how it all played out on TV?<\/p>\n Nate Moore:<\/strong> I was surprised how set Sophie Segreti was on getting me out! She’s a great competitor and we competed well together in the challenges where we were on the same side. But I didn’t realize how deeply her killer instinct had zeroed in on me.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Journal:<\/strong> What do you think was your biggest strength in the game, and what ultimately led to your downfall?<\/p>\n Nate: <\/strong>My biggest strength was that I was patient and didn’t overplay my hand outwardly. My downfall was that I didn’t have a true No. 1 in the game, and it’s clear there were a lot of pairs out there protecting each other.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Journal: <\/strong>If it had become more clear at tribal council that you were getting votes, would you have done anything differently? Do you think there would\u2019ve been something you could do to change your fate?<\/p>\n Nate:<\/strong> I think by that time it was too late. I would have had to do much better back at camp with Sage and Jawan. You have to remember, there were three people who had never been to tribal, so Sophie, Kristina [Mills] and MC [Chukwujekwu] weren’t going to change under that pressure! And Steven [Ramm] already knew I was gunning for him. So changes at that late stage weren’t going to take in a real way because they were all in lock step.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Journal:<\/strong> It seemed like there were several smaller duos and sub-alliances within Uli. Who did you feel was truly your No. 1 ally out there?<\/p>\n Nate:<\/strong> I didn’t have one, unfortunately.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Journal:<\/strong> If you had made it one or two more votes, what was your plan moving forward? Who did you want to work with long-term?<\/p>\n Nate: I wanted to stick with Savannah, Rizo and Sophi, but I also wanted to work with MC and Sage (and Jawan, by association).
