Vanessa Marcil<\/strong><\/a> is proud of herself \u2014 and that pride extends to her son, Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(Respect) Coming from where I came from it is unheard of what I\u2019ve gone on to achieve & what my son has achieved,\u201d the actress wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Saturday, November 8, alongside a throwback photo from her pregnancy with Kassius, now 23, whom she shares with ex Brian Austin Green<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Marcil, 57, continued: \u201cThe risks Kass & I are both willing to take in life as artists choosing the path less traveled IS the outcome. The journey, the struggle IS the outcome. Do what you love. Don\u2019t have a safety net. Don\u2019t settle for a back up plan. You will never look back and regret having your freedom. Take the risk. Art is meant to disturb, to disrupt, to make you feel something. If you aren\u2019t willing to feel the bad you will also miss out on the joy. If you do the same thing that a man would do? You will be called a bitch. Go be a bitch\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marcil began her career<\/a> in 1992 as Brenda Barrett on General Hospital<\/em>, where she appeared on and off until 2013. She is also known for her roles as Gina Kincaid on Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em> and Sam Marquez on Las Vegas<\/em>. Currently, Marcil spends her days advocating for single mothers and animal rescues. She works closely with the SoCal French Bulldog Rescue and the California Cleft Pup Rescue, in addition to her work helping dogs in need of a forever home.<\/p>\n

Marcil has fully supported Kassius, who is openly gay, and recently came to his defense<\/a> after homophobic remarks were thrown his way.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all I\u2019m so sorry that you are so lonely & unhappy that you have to involve children in your self hatred, projection spirals but I promise you that my kid just feels sorry for you. He\u2019s happy,\u201d she wrote to a commenter via Instagram in June, saying she\u2019d \u201cfeel bad for you but I\u2019m not that mature.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy kid however is the most decent, forgiving, kind, educated, talented, FREE, committed (with the same boyfriend for 8 years), self reflective, non judgmental, philanthropic (look it up [commenter]), Intellect\u2026who has actually studied the Bible and Judaism along with other religions, languages, cultures and he would fight for your freedoms and your rights just like my man did in the Iraq war,\u201d she continued, mentioning her fianc\u00e9, deputy sheriff MC Martin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Brian has also stood by his son<\/a>, telling Lance Bass<\/strong> on his \u201cFrosted Tips\u201d podcast in 2023 that although it was \u201cchallenging\u201d at first, he fully supports Kassius.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would get into these conservations with Kash where it was like I really wanted to understand the things that seemed so different to me at first,\u201d Green said at the time. \u201cAnd then you realize, \u2018Oh, this isn\u2019t different at all.\u2019 It\u2019s just your choice of partner. It doesn\u2019t affect me at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cAnd that\u2019s the thing I\u2019m always trying to beat into people now \u2014 it does not affect you. Why do you care so much? And why are you trying to somehow bully your feelings and your opinion into something that literally does not affect you at all?\u201d<\/p>\n
