Betty Harford<\/strong> has died at the age of 98.<\/p>\n The actress died on Sunday, Nov. 2 in Santa Barbara, California, according to her friend Wendy Mitchell<\/strong> who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n The actress’s film and television career spanned decades and included notable roles such as Mrs. Nottingham on The Paper Chase<\/em> and as Gloria \u2014 the sister of Natalie Wood<\/strong>‘s character \u2014 in Inside Daisy Clover<\/em>.<\/p>\n She was most known, however, for her role as Hilda Gummerson on the ABC soap opera Dynasty<\/em>, which ran from 1981-1989. There, she played a family cook working for Blake Carrington (John Forsythe<\/strong>) for 34 episodes of the series during its first eight seasons before coming back for the 1991 reunion miniseries.<\/p>\n Harford was born in New York City on Jan. 28, 1927. Her first acting credits include radio, TV anthology shows, and voice acting before she ventured into more mainstream roles.<\/p>\n Some of her other notable credits include classic television shows like Gunsmoke<\/em>, The Twilight Zone<\/em>, and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour<\/em> as well as small parts in films like Spartacus<\/em>, Signpost to Murder<\/em>, and Win, Place or Steal<\/em>.<\/p>\n Harford was married to sculptor Oliver Andrews<\/strong>, who died at age 53 in 1978 in a scuba diving accident.
