Sally Kirkland, the Oscar-nominated actress who has appeared in multiple hit TV shows and movies, reportedly has entered hospice.<\/p>\n
Michael Greene, a spokesman for the 84-year-old Kirkland, tells TMZ<\/a> that Kirkland is in hospice in Palm Springs, California. A GoFundMe page<\/a> says Kirkland\u2019s health has suffered after SAG-AFTRA canceled supplemental insurance in 2021 for members over the age of 65.<\/p>\n \u201cAs a result today, she finds herself facing a significant health crisis \u2014 one that has not only affected her well-being but also requires urgent and quality medical care that she can no longer afford,” the GoFundMe page says.<\/p>\n The longtime actress broke four bones in her neck, right wrist, and her left hip in the past year, the GoFundMe page says. She developed two separate life-threatening infections while recovering.<\/p>\n \u201cThe combination of these injuries and infections have required extensive hospitalizations and rehab beyond the 100 days insurance will cover,\u201d the post says. \u201cAs the days pass, lack of proper care greatly diminishes Sally\u2019s chance of a full recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n Kirkland\u2019s career spans six decades and includes appearances in over 300 projects, such as \u201cThe Sting,\u201d \u201cPrivate Benjamin,\u201d \u201cEDtv,\u201d \u201cBruce Almighty,\u201d \u201cThe Haunted,\u201d \u201cBest of The Best,\u201d \u201cRevenge,\u201d \u201cCoffee Date,\u201d \u201cRoseanne,\u201d \u201cJFK,\u201d \u201cA Brave New World,\u201d \u201c80 for Brady,\u201d \u201cAnna,\u201d and the 2024 indie hit film \u201cSallywood.\u201d<\/p>\n Kirkland was nominated for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe for her role in \u201cAnna,\u201d a comedy-drama released in 1987, the GoFundMe page says.<\/p>\n
