The Road<\/em> continued its musical journey with the remaining nine musicians handpicked by Blake Shelton<\/strong>, Taylor Sheridan<\/strong> and Keith Urban<\/strong> competing in the new CBS singing competition in which they serve as the opening act for Keith. Their third stop was at The Oklahoma Ranch in Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n

For their third performance of the season, the nine artists were again divided into two groups over a two-night event. Each artist had to sing an original song and a cover with the goal in mind to impress the audience, who voted.<\/p>\n

The four on the first night were Cassidy Daniels<\/strong>, Cody Hibbard<\/strong>, Jenny Tolman<\/strong> and Forrest McCurren<\/strong>, but for Cody, a sudden medical emergency \u2013 kidney stones \u2013 meant he wasn\u2019t performing at the top of his game and which might have cut his journey short. Both Cassidy and Cody have been in the top in previous episodes, while both Jenny and Forrest have been in the bottom.<\/p>\n

Then, in a surprise for the audience and for the contestants, \u201cTour Manager\u201d Gretchen Wilson<\/strong> kicked off the night\u2019s music, performing her hit song \u201cHere for the Party.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the end of the night, the bottom two vote getters were assessed by Blake and Keith and one had to give up their seat on the bus when they were eliminated. Next week, the remaining five will perform and someone else will be eliminated.<\/p>\n

The grand prize for winning The Road <\/em>is a slot at Stagecoach, a recording contract and $250,000.<\/p>\n
