Autism Jersey is teaming up with New Zealand singer-songwriter Sophie Maude to create a new music hub designed for neurodiverse islanders.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
The collaboration follows Maude\u2019s recent visit to Jersey, where she helped raise more than \u00a363,000 for the charity. The funds will go towards establishing a community space for neurodiverse children, which will be named in her honour.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
Diagnosed with autism, ADHD, OCD and Tourette\u2019s, Maude has spoken openly about how music transformed her life after years of isolation. Now a chart-topping artist, she hopes to inspire others to find confidence and connection through creativity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
Lesley Harrison, Head of Charitable Services at Autism Jersey, said the project will provide vital opportunities for expression and development. \u201cMusic supports social and communication skills, motor coordination, and emotional regulation,\u201d she said. \u201cIt has so many benefits.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
The charity is currently exploring potential venues and partnerships, with the aim of launching the hub early next year.
