\nand her time in Peru will see her visit the Divino Nino Vision
\nCentre to hear about its work in treating glaucoma and
\npterygium.<\/p>\nFrom Peru, the Duchess of Edinburgh will head to Central America
\nwhere more firsts await her. She\u2019ll spend time in Panama and
\nGuatemala, again debut trips to those nations for her.<\/p>\n
The visit to Panama will include meetings around ongoing work
\nbetween the country and the UK to help victims of conflict related
\nsexual violence.<\/p>\n
The Duchess of Edinburgh will also meet senior members of
\nPanamanian government on this leg of her tour of Central
\nAmerica.<\/p>\n
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has also asked
\nthe Duchess of Edinburgh to visit Guatemala where she will see
\nconservation efforts in the remote Maya Biosphere Reserve which are
\nled by Indigenous groups.<\/p>\n
There will also be a chance for Sophie to witness, first hand,
\ncommunity work to support survivors of human trafficking and sexual
\nviolence. She will also visit a charity supporting vulnerable young
\npeople.<\/p>\n
This is a long visit for Sophie who won\u2019t return to the UK until
\nNovember 19. The final days of her visit will be spent in Belize as
\npart of the Royal Family\u2019s engagement with the Realms.<\/p>\n
During her time in Belize, which was visited by the Prince and
\nPrincess of Wales during the Platinum Jubilee visits they made,
\nSophie will see conservation work with a focus on marine
\nsystems.<\/p>\n
The Duchess of Edinburgh will also see the British Army Training
\nSupport Unit Belize and take part in jungle training.<\/p>\n
This royal visit will also co-incide with the national holiday
\nof Garifuna Settlement Day and we can expect to see Sophie taking
\npart in events marking that.<\/p>\n
The Duchess of Edinburgh is taking on an increasing number of
\nsolo overseas visits in support of The King as well as at the
\nrequest of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. In
\nlate summer, she made a high profile visit to the Democratic
\nRepublic of Congo where she saw work going on to help victims of
\nconflict related sexual violence.<\/p>\n
The Duchess also has a busy schedule at home with visits around
\nthe country supporting the charities and military with which she is
\ninvolved.<\/p>\n
