Spacek talked to \u201cEntertainment Tonight\u201d <\/a>about the now famous scene. She also expressed shock that the film was almost a half a century old.\n <\/p>\n\n Spacek starred as the bullied high schooler who has telekinetic abilities which become unleashed over the course of the film, culminating in a fit of murderous rage over some very aggressive bullying: being doused with pig\u2019s blood.\n <\/p>\n
\n One thing stuck out to her: \u201cHow sticky movie blood is,\u201d Spacek said. \u201cIt was terrible, terrible, terrible.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n She enjoyed, however, working with her costars, including Nancy Allen, Betty Buckley, Amy Irving and John Travolta, as well as director Brian De Palma.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt\u2019s so wonderful to get to work with people who are really into what they are doing,\u201d Spacek said.\n <\/p>\n
\n The actress is currently appearing in the well-reviewed new film \u201cDie My Love,\u201d directed by Lynne Ramsay, and starring Jennifer Lawrence. Spacek has some thoughts as to why the horror film still resonates to this day: \u201cThat time, middle school to high school, you\u2019re going through so many changes and we all have, no matter what, we\u2019ve got Carrie inside of us.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe\u2019ve got a wounded teenager. It\u2019s a hard, hard time,\u201d she said. \u201cGrowing up is hard. And it\u2019s kind of heartbreaking. It really hit a nerve, that film.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Amazon MGM Studios is preparing a \u201cCarrie\u201d series made from the material, to be made by Mike Flanagan, who created \u201cMidnight Mass\u201d for Netflix and directed \u201cDoctor Sleep,\u201d essentially a sequel to \u201cThe Shining.\u201d Spacek said she\u2019ll be watching.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
