According to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/my.clevelandclinic.org\/health\/diseases\/23553-pandas-syndrome\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Cleveland Clinic;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, PANDAS, or \u201cpediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections,\u201d includes a host of symptoms linked to kids who have had strep infections. These symptoms include \u201cobsessive-compulsive behavior\u201d and other \u201cmental and neurological symptoms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The RHOC mom of three shared that Luke had a severe case of strep throat in January. \u201cThe bacteria remains, and then it affects the brain. And the brain swells,\u201d Emily explained. \u201cSo all of these symptoms are associated with strep throat. And there\u2019s higher risk in kids that are on the spectrum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She continued, \u201cYeah, so he is going to have <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/11\/06\/real-housewives-of-orange-county-rhoc-season-19-episode-18-recap-reunion-part-one\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:a laser treatment;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">a laser treatment<\/a> on his brain to reduce the swelling.
