A number of other Miss Universe contestants walked out of the room after his comments.<\/p>\n The president of the Miss Universe pageant has announced that Nawat Itsaragrisil has been dismissed from this year\u2019s competition. In a social media video, Ra\u00fal Rocha said (in Spanish) that the contest\u2019s officials have taken several steps against the executive.<\/p>\n In a clip posted to the pageant\u2019s official Instagram page, he said: \u201cI have restricted Nawat\u2019s participation in the events that are part of the 74th Miss Universe competition, limiting it as much as possible or eliminating it entirely,\u201d per People<\/a>.<\/p>\n He added that he wished to express his \u201cgreat indignation towards Nawat for the public aggression he committed against F\u00e1tima Bosch \u2026 whom he humiliated, insulted, and showed lack of respect to.\u201d<\/p>\n He concluded: \u201cI will not allow the values of respect and dignity towards women to be violated. Nawat, you need to stop.\u201d<\/p>\n The confrontation happened on a Facebook livestream. Itsaragrisil chastised Miss Mexico<\/a> for allegedly refusing to take part in a photo shoot, which she denied. He ultimately referred to her as a \u201cdumbhead.\u201d<\/p>\n Itsaragrisil has since apologized for his comments. He said during a press conference on November 5: \u201cI am human.
