Charli XCX<\/a>\u2019s new single \u2018House\u2019, with John Cale<\/a>, is out now \u2013 listen to the track and watch the video here.<\/p>\n The single is the first from the singer\u2019s album written for Emerald Fennell\u2019s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights<\/em><\/a>, and it features The Velvet Underground<\/a> legend Cale. The cinematic, eerie-sounding offering sees the singer move into gothic and industrial rock territory with Cale\u2019s spoken word contributions adding to the sense of foreboding.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a prisoner \/ To live for eternity<\/i>\u201d and \u201cAm I living in another world? \/ Another world I created \/ For what?<\/em>\u201d he says as part of his monologue, while he and Charli join forces in the final third of the track to repeat, <\/i>\u201cI think I\u2019m gonna die in this house<\/i>\u201d over dramatic guitars. <\/i>Cale then returns alone at the end to say, \u201cIn every room \/ I hear silence<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n The video, directed by Mitch Ryan, stars both Charli and Cale as well as dark, shadowy figures, and sees the former pour candle wax on her skin \u2013 check it out here.<\/p>\n\n
