Penn Badgley<\/strong><\/a> made a rare comment about his relationship with 16-year-old stepson Cassius.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny real parent figure is always going to be cringe to some degree, definitely,\u201d Badgley, 39, said in Us Weekly<\/em>\u2019s exclusive clip from Amanda Hirsch<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cNot Skinny But Not Fat\u201d podcast episode, dropping on Tuesday, November 11. \u201cBut, I think there\u2019s also \u2014 I am who I am, and I am not the most uncool stepparent you can have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Badgley subtly admitted he might actually be a \u201ccool\u201d stepdad.<\/p>\n

He also recalled wife Domino Kirke<\/strong> watching the first episode of Gossip Girl<\/em><\/a> with Cassius.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was young enough that it wasn\u2019t inappropriate but that he was uninterested,\u201d Badgley explained. \u201cHe\u2019s definitely getting to the age where \u2014 I still think 16 [or] 17 is young to be watching You<\/em><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPenn Badgley is opening up about the unique combination of being a stepdad while also raising a child of his own. The You actor,\u00a0 37, candidly discussed his relationship with his 15-year-old stepson, Cassius, and his 2-year-old biological son, James, while appearing on the Wednesday, March 27, episode of the \u201cModern Love\u201d podcast. \u201cI have [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He added, \u201cThe themes that it\u2019s dealing with, even with its camp and humor and unseriousness, to really grasp it and not be somehow internalizing the thing it\u2019s satirizing, I think you have to be older. I think you have to be in your 20s, personally.\u201d<\/p>\n

All in all, Badgley said that Cassius \u201chasn\u2019t really seen\u201d a lot of stuff he\u2019s been in. \u201cBut he sees my TikToks,\u201d Badgley quipped.<\/p>\n

Badgley and Kirke, 41, met in 2014 when Cassius was only 5 years old. (Kirke welcomed Cassius during a prior relationship with Morgan O\u2019Kane<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

The couple married in 2017 and have since expanded their family, welcoming a son in August 2020. It was previously reported that Badgley and Kirke had named their son James. However, the actor has since denied that rumor.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d get it removed [from Wikipedia], and it would just go back,\u201d Badgley said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a> in May, sharing that his son\u2019s name was listed as James on his page. Badgley and Kirke have attempted to get it removed \u2014 but someone kept putting it back.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a platform, why not clear the air?\u201d Badgley said at the time, adding that his son\u2019s actual name will \u201cremain undisclosed\u201d for now. \u201cIt\u2019s a good name, though!\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Badgley announced in February that he and Kirke were expecting twins.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time I see the sonogram it just \u2026 it feels so good,\u201d Badley gushed during the same talk show appearance, noting that his kids\u2019 upbringing is much different than his was. \u201cAs an only child, that\u2019s touching to see them together.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cThey\u2019re in there like it\u2019s a hot tub. I actually have seen \u2026 there\u2019s a sonogram of them almost like facing each other. I cannot fathom what it would be like to have someone with you there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Badgley and Kirke\u2019s other son, meanwhile, was ready to take on the role of big brother.<\/p>\n
