A \u201cV for Vendetta<\/a>\u201d TV series is currently in development at HBO, Variety has learned exclusively.<\/p>\n

According to sources, Pete Jackson<\/a> is attached to write the series adaptation. James Gunn<\/a> and Peter Safran<\/a> of DC Studios<\/a> will executive produce, as will Ben Stephenson<\/a> via Poison Pen<\/a> and Leanne Klein<\/a> of Wall to Wall Media<\/a>, which is part of Warner Bros. Television Studios UK. Warner Bros. Television<\/a> will produce.<\/p>\n

HBO and DC Studios declined to comment. Reps for Jackson<\/a> did not immediately respond to Variety\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cV for Vendetta<\/a>\u201d began as a comic serial written by Alan Moore<\/a> and illustrated by David Lloyd<\/a>. It debuted in 1982 in the British anthology \u201cWarrior<\/a>,\u201d with DC taking over publishing it in 1988.<\/p>\n
