Darius Rucker<\/a> is taking a relaxed approach to wedding planning with fianc\u00e9e Emily Deahl<\/a>.<\/p>\nIn fact, when asked about how the process was going during a Monday, Nov. 10 appearance on the Today<\/em><\/a> show, the country singer, 59, revealed that he’s not doing any planning at all.<\/p>\n“We don’t really have any plans,” Rucker said. “We’re not going to plan \u2014 we’re just gonna get married and have a big party somewhere.”<\/p>\n
Reflecting on his engagement to his fianc\u00e9e, who is a lifestyle content creator and singer-songwriter, the musician said, “Emily and I, we’ve been together for a couple of years, and she’s an amazing human being.”<\/p>\n\n<\/div>The Hootie & the Blowfish frontman said he popped the question on Pawleys Island in South Carolina, describing the occasion as “a great day.”<\/p>\n
Rucker and Deahl, 33, announced their engagement<\/a> in a joint Instagram post<\/a> on Oct. 8.<\/p>\n“Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known. The day I met you I knew I didn\u2019t want to go another one without you. Now I don\u2019t have to,” the “Never Been Over” singer wrote.<\/p>\n
The post featured a black-and-white photo of a barefoot Rucker down on bended knee as Deahl stood in front of him with a big smile on her face. “I never intended on keeping this part of my life from you guys for so long, but somewhere along the way of loving him I discovered how sacred love is to me,” she wrote. “And all I wanted to do was protect it.”<\/p>\n
“But damn I’m glad I don’t have to spend the time photoshopping him out of every photo now \ud83e\udd73,” she joked.<\/p>\n
