Taskovski Films<\/a> has acquired Mexican Dutch filmmaker Diego Guti\u00e9rrez<\/a>\u2019s feature documentary \u201cThe Shipwrecked,\u201d which will have its world premiere at IDFA in the International Competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Shipwrecked\u201d follows a disillusioned filmmaker who returns to his homeland, Mexico, navigating stories of ordinary people confronting extraordinary circumstances. These stories range from a church restorer preserving the past, to young biologists in love, to a young man transforming a luxury resort into a vegetable garden, and a struggling peasant fighting to make ends meet.<\/p>\n

The film \u201ccelebrates small acts of courage and resilience in a country grappling with inequality, corruption, and climate challenges,\u201d according to a statement.<\/p>\n
