Tom Bergeron<\/a> is returning to \u201cDancing With The Stars\u201d<\/a> five years after being fired<\/a>, but he said he has no regrets about what he did to lose the job in the first place. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n The long-running dance competition celebrates its 20th anniversary Tuesday night, and Bergeron will be back as a guest judge, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Bergeron hosted the show from 2005 to 2019 before being canned in 2020<\/a> after he publicly objected to former White House press secretary Sean Spicer being cast on the show<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n It wasn\u2019t Spicer in particular that bothered Bergeron, just his belief that the show should avoid politics entirely.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWhat I get a kick out of is when every so often on social media, I\u2019ll see somebody, like, \u2018Well, if Tom hadn\u2019t brought politics into the show, he wouldn\u2019t have got fired,\u2019\u201d he told THR.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt\u2019s like: Guys, I was the one who was trying not to bring politics into the show. Even when I released my statement, I was very careful not to mention a political party or Sean [Spicer], because that wasn\u2019t the issue. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI even said to Sean, \u2018If they had cast Hillary Clinton \u2014 I voted for her, I don\u2019t want her on the show.
