As a result, there was an unfortunate misquote that said I\u2019d stopped acting for a bit. My intention was to say, \u2018Next year I\u2019ll be back,\u2019 but yeah, the ripple effect was extraordinary.\u201d<\/p>\n In short, he plans to step back a little\u2014but not stop acting entirely. He wants to dedicate more time to his charity work with The Shameless Fund, an organization raising funds for non-profits and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n \u201cBy Monday, the headlines were \u2018Jonathan Bailey<\/strong> has quit acting,\u2019\u201d the Wicked<\/strong><\/a><\/em> star continued. \u201cI learnt at that moment that you can\u2019t control it.\u201d<\/p>\n Basically, after Wicked: For Good<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, we won\u2019t see him in any new roles in 2026 (aside from what he\u2019s already filmed for Bridgerton<\/em> season 4<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n \u201cI mean as it stands at the moment, I\u2019ll definitely be back to work next year,\u201d Jonathan<\/strong> clarified. \u201cI\u2019m not taking the whole of 2026 off.\u201d<\/p>\n That being said, even if he returns to set late next year, whatever he shoots in 2026 likely won\u2019t hit screens until 2027 or later.<\/p>\n
