SpayMart, a nonprofit that has been improving the lives of local animals for more than 25 years, recently celebrated the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of its new store at 8911 Jefferson Highway. The celebration marked a fresh start after the organization lost its longtime Veterans Boulevard location earlier this year. Thanks to overwhelming community support, SpayMart secured and renovated a larger, brighter space \u2014 one that now serves as both a shopping destination and a safe haven for cats waiting to be adopted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Inside the store, shoppers can browse an ever-changing selection of furniture, jewelry, collectibles, china, glassware and other unique treasures \u2014 all donated by supporters. Every sale helps fund SpayMart\u2019s vital programs, from spay\/neuter services to adoption and veterinary care for abandoned and at-risk animals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThanks to our generous donors and supporters, we were able to secure this wonderful new space,\u201d said Lynn Chiche, SpayMart president. \u201cIt\u2019s a big step forward in our mission to save more lives and help the animals of Greater New Orleans.\u201d<\/p>\n
