Paris Jackson<\/strong><\/a> has revealed that previous drug use has left a lasting impact on her body.<\/p>\n

\u201cI realized I never addressed this and it can sometimes be very noticeable,\u201d Jackson, 27, said in a social media video that was reshared via a TikTok fanpage<\/a> on Sunday, November 9. \u201cI have a really loud whistle because you can hear it when I breathe through my nose and that is because I have what is called a perforated septum.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paris, the daughter of the late pop icon<\/a> Michael Jackson<\/strong>, then shone a light up her nostril to highlight the hollow cavity. She explained that a perforated septum is \u201cslightly different\u201d compared to a deviated septum.<\/p>\n

According to the Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, a perforated septum is a hole in the cartilage or bone between a person\u2019s nostrils. It can make a noticeable dip in the bridge of the nose. A perforated septum can be caused by autoimmune diseases, drug misuse, exposure to chemicals, infections, injuries or, in rare cases, tumors.<\/p>\n

As for how it happened, Paris shared \u201cit\u2019s exactly where you think it\u2019s from.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t do drugs kids,\u201d she said while pointing at the camera. \u201cOr do, I mean, everyone is going to have the experience they need to have with life. I\u2019m not going to tell anyone what to do. I don\u2019t recommend it because it ruined my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paris admitted that she\u2019s been \u201cliving\u201d with the perforated septum since she was \u201cabout\u201d 20 years old. She confessed it\u2019s been stressful to manage, especially when in the studio. Paris noted that she \u201ccan stick a spaghetti noodle\u201d through her nose and have it make an arch shape out the other.<\/p>\n

The condition isn\u2019t serious and doesn\u2019t cause severe or life-threatening issues. It can be treated with an antibiotic ointment, a humidifier or regular saline rinses, per the Cleveland Clinic. A person struggling with a perforated septum can also get a prosthetic button or surgery if treatment is ultimately unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

Paris added that she doesn\u2019t want to get \u201cplastic surgery\u201d to fix the issue because she\u2019s \u201calmost six years sober.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to take pills when you do a surgery that gnarly,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t want to f**k with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Paris opened up about her sobriety journey<\/a> and revealed she hit the five-year milestone.<\/p>\n
