Morgan Freeman<\/strong> has shared his reaction to being called \u201cGod\u201d in a new interview<\/strong>. Freeman discussed playing God in the 2003 comedy-fantasy film Bruce Almighty. He starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Jim Carrey, Steve Carell and Catherine Bell in the movie. He reprised his role as \u201cGod\u201d in the sequel, Evan Almighty.<\/p>\n Morgan Freeman shared what he really thinks of being referred to as \u201cGod\u201d in an interview with The Guardian<\/a>. When the interviewer David Smith remarked that \u201cBiblical Gravitas\u201d had become Freeman\u2019s \u201cbrand,\u201d the 88-year-old actor chuckled in response. Freeman confessed, \u201cGravitas, yeah. I don\u2019t know, I\u2019ve done comedies. But I\u2019ll take it. It works for me, so no arguments.\u201d<\/p>\n Continuing further, the actor revealed, \u201cIt was interesting, though, the outcome of playing God in the movies. Audiences bought it. I mean, bought it. I walk into a room and they say: \u2018God just walked in.\u2019 I say something, they say: \u2018Oh, it\u2019s the voice of God.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Furthermore, he explained, \u201cThat went on for the longest time. Ooooo-Kay! Be careful there.\u201d When asked if it was \u201ca lot of pressure?\u201d he answered, \u201cI vociferously avoid the pressure. It\u2019s like, be cool, hold that down, don\u2019t try to convince me that that\u2019s who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time Freeman has spoken about playing God on screen. During National Geographic\u2019s panel for The Story of God with Morgan Freeman, the Hollywood icon simply remarked, \u201cPlaying God is simply a matter of learning a script. It didn\u2019t require research beyond that\u201d (via Los Angeles Times<\/a>).<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the interview with The Guardian, Freeman discussed his apprehensions about AI fast seeping into Hollywood. He said, \u201cI\u2019m like any other actor: don\u2019t mimic me with falseness. I don\u2019t appreciate it and I get paid for doing stuff like that, so if you\u2019re gonna do it without me, you\u2019re robbing me.\u201d<\/p>\n Freeman also expressed his dislike for AI actor Tilly Norwood<\/a> and how this takes away humanness from artists.
