HBO is ready to return to the world of Dune<\/em>.<\/p>\n The company just announced that spinoff Dune: Prophecy<\/em> has started production on a second season.<\/p>\n More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n Unlike the six-episode first season, HBO is giving the series more episodes for its sophomore run: Eight episodes instead of six. The bump is notable as, if anything, the trend in the streaming era is to either order the same or fewer episodes per season \u2014 especially on a show that has received mixed reviews from critics and viewers.<\/p>\n Dune: Prophecy<\/em> is also announcing the edition of several new cast members, the first of which is a Game of Thrones<\/em> veteran who seems perfect for the world of the Bene Gesserit: Indira Varma, who has also appeared in HBO\u2019s Rome<\/em> and Netflix\u2019s The Night Manager<\/em>.<\/p>\n The show is also adding Ashley Walters, who earned an Emmy nomination for his incredible turn playing the lead detective in Netflix\u2019s Adolescence<\/em>.<\/p>\n Also joining the cast is Tom Hollander\u00a0of HBO\u2019s\u00a0The White Lotus<\/em> and Netflix\u2019s The Night Manager<\/em> fame.<\/p>\n Filming is taking place\u00a0in Hungary,\u00a0Jordan and Spain with season one showrunner and executive producer Alison Schapker returning.<\/p>\n There\u2019s no word yet on a premiere date.
