A new Luther<\/strong><\/a> movie is coming to Netflix!<\/p>\n

Idris Elba<\/strong><\/a> will reprise his role as Detective John Luther in the film being directed by Jamie Payne<\/strong>, alongside returning stars Ruth Wilson<\/strong><\/a> and Dermot Crowley<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

The movie will follow 2023\u2032s Luther: The Fallen Sun, which is based on the hit BBC<\/strong><\/a> series.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a synopsis, per Variety<\/a>: \u201cIn this chapter, Luther is secretly called back into service when a new wave of brutal, seemingly random murders hits London. But how can he save London when everyone on all sides seems to want him dead?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNeil<\/strong> has yet again, created a wonderfully dark tale to bring us all back together. It\u2019s a true joy to be back on the streets of Lutherland with the supreme talents that are Idris Elba<\/strong> and Dermot Crowley<\/strong>,\u201d the director said in a statement. \u201cI am also thrilled to be reunited with the brilliant and dangerous Alice Morgan played by the extraordinarily talented Ruth Wilson<\/strong>. Fans new and old are in for a treat!\u201d<\/p>\n

The original series ran from 2010 to 2019. <\/p>\n

Idris<\/strong> won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor \u2013 Miniseries or Television Film as well as a four nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for the role. He also won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie at the SAG Awards in 2015.<\/p>\n

In the series, John Luther is a brilliant homicide detective with a knack for getting inside the minds of murderers. Unfortunately, his unconventional methods and personal demons put him at odds with his team.<\/p>\n
