Online<\/a><\/p>\n Benson Boone<\/strong><\/a> wants the world to respect his whimsical dessert.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>American Heart <\/span>singer poked fun at his album\u2019s lead single \u201cMystical Magic,\u201d an ode to love and his unofficial ice cream flavor, after it didn\u2019t receive a <\/span>nomination for the 2026 Grammys<\/span><\/a> in February.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cCan\u2019t believe \u2018moonbeam ice cream\u2019 didn\u2019t get a Grammy nom,\u201d Benson wrote on his <\/span>Nov. 10 Instagram Stories<\/span><\/a>, looking directly into the camera. \u201cIt\u2019s literally pure lyrical genius.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Indeed, \u201cMystical Magical\u201d <\/span>became a viral meme<\/span><\/a> after the <\/span>American Idol<\/span> alum first <\/span>teased the chorus on TikTok<\/span><\/a> in April. Specifically, many fans didn\u2019t understand his nod to the sweet treat, leading them to joke about the track\u2019s lyrics. But despite the backlash, the \u201cBeautiful Things\u201d singer leaned into the chatter and later admitted that songwriter <\/span>Jack LaFrantz<\/strong> made up the playful line during their studio session.<\/span><\/p>\n More from E! Online<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI write pretty much everything with Jack,\u201d the 23-year-old explained during his June 5 appearance<\/a> on <\/span>The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/span>. \u201cJack\u2019s sitting there and he just goes, \u2018You know, what if you just did this?\u2019 It looked like he was going to say something really good and then he goes, \u201cMoonbeam ice cream, taking off your blue jeans!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Stunned by Jack\u2019s idea, Benson noted that he used the lyric \u201cas a placeholder\u201d before he realized how much he liked it. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe went home and listened to it,\u201d he recalled of the session. \u201cI was like, \u201cMoonbeam ice cream? Hell yeah!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Instagram\/@bensonboone<\/p>\n Although \u201cMystical Magic<\/span>\u201d<\/span> didn\u2019t receive a nod from the Recording Academy on Nov. 7, the unserious line did get him one award: his <\/span>own \u201cMoonbeam Ice Cream\u201d Crumbl cookie<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n As for how <\/span>other artists reacted to their 2026 Grammy nominations?<\/span><\/a> Addison Rae<\/strong><\/a>, who secured a nod for Best New Artist, shared a compilation photo of her shocked reaction on her Instagram Stories after the announcement.
