The band \u2014 featuring singer-guitarists Zach Williams, Kanene Donehey Pipkin, and Brian Elmquist \u2014 released its most recent album, <i>Love Songs for Losers<\/i>, in 2022. New Jersey singer Nicole Atkins, known for her swoony sound, opens the show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Howl Owl Howl is the unexpected trio of Hootie &amp; the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker, R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills, and longtime Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman, who also wrote the memoir <i>Hard to Handle: The Life and Death of the Black Crowes.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">There\u2019s an album in the works, but so far they\u2019ve only released one single, the promising \u201cMy Cologne.\u201d The project repositions Rucker as a rock singer after he\u2019s crossed over to country in recent years, and the set list will draw on all three band\u2019s repertoires as well as new material. They play <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.utphilly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.utphilly.com\/\">UT on Wednesday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Philly \u201cWhat We Do\u201d rapper Freeway is doing a <i>Son of the 215<\/i> album release party <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/worldcafelive.org\/event\/son-of-the-215-x-philadelphia-freeway-215way-album-release-concert-afterparty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/worldcafelive.org\/event\/son-of-the-215-x-philadelphia-freeway-215way-album-release-concert-afterparty\/\">on Wednesday at World Cafe Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \"><i>Getting Killed<\/i>, the third album by celebrity.land-punk band Geese, follows the release of singer Cameron Winter\u2019s 2024 solo album, <i>Heavy Metal,<\/i> into a satisfyingly arty and unpredictable direction. It\u2019s going to be on all the critics\u2019 year-end best-of lists. On Thursday, Geese <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.utphilly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.utphilly.com\/\">play Union Transfer.<\/a> Like-minded Irish songwriter Dove Ellis opens.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Pop craftsman of the first order Marshall Crenshaw plays Maryland\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/do215.com\/events\/2025\/11\/13\/marshall-crenshaw-tickets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/do215.com\/events\/2025\/11\/13\/marshall-crenshaw-tickets\">Elkton Music Hall on Thursday <\/a>and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/bucks-county\">Bucks County<\/a>\u2019s S<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.st94.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.st94.com\/\">ellersville Theater<\/a> on Saturday. James Mastro opens both shows. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Joe Russo is alive and well. The drummer\u2019s group Almost Dead, featuring standout Philadelphia guitarist Tom Hamilton, mostly plays the music of the Grateful Dead. The band plays<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.themetphilly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.themetphilly.com\/\"> the Met Philly Friday.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Swedish songwriter Jens Lekman is both uncommonly earnest and uniquely quirky. The Gothenburg native\u2019s new album, <i>Songs for Other People\u2019s Weddings,<\/i> is a companion piece to a book of the same name that Lekman wrote with YA novelist David Levithan. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">In past Philly appearances, Lekman has been joined by the Charlie Hall indie rock choral group the Silver Ages, so we\u2019ll see if he has any special guests lined up for <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/undergroundarts.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/undergroundarts.org\/\">his Friday show at Underground Arts.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The \u201cmelon\u201d in Josh Ritter\u2019s new album, <i>I Believe in You, Honeydew,<\/i> is the Moscow, Idaho-born songwriter\u2019s muse \u2014 \u201cmy invisible and blinding companion of long standing.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Ritter will perform new songs and favorites from his extensive catalog in two shows Friday: a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/xpn.org\/free-at-noon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/xpn.org\/free-at-noon\/\">Free at Noon set at World Cafe Live<\/a> and a full-band performance that night at the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.keswicktheatre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.keswicktheatre.com\/\">Keswick Theatre<\/a> with the Royal City Band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The Inquirer Food Fest, happening Saturday at the Fillmore with eats by El Chingon, Friday Saturday Sunday, Doro Bet, Fiorella, and many more, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/foodfest.inquirer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/foodfest.inquirer.com\/\">is also a music fest.<\/a> Snacktime and Zinadelphia play live, and DJs Joshua Lang and DJ Sylo of BWC Sounds will spin all day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The visionary Philadelphia musician born Edward Larry Gordon \u2014 better known as Laraaji \u2014 plays hammered dulcimer, electronic zither, kalimba, and synthesizers. On Saturday<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.slatechurch.org\/events\/2025\/11\/15\/ambient-church-laraaji\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.slatechurch.org\/events\/2025\/11\/15\/ambient-church-laraaji\"> at the Church of St. Luke &amp; the Epiphany in <\/a><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/center-city\">Center City<\/a>, he\u2019ll team with New York meditative composer Ana Roxanne for a night of ambient church music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The band calling itself the Saints \u201973\u2013\u201978 includes two members \u2014 Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay \u2014of the original 1970s Australian punk group carrying on the legacy of frontman Chris Bailey, who died in 2022. They will be joined<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.utphilly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.utphilly.com\/\"> at Union Transfer <\/a>by Saints superfans Mark Arm of Mudhoney, Mick Harvey of Nick Cave\u2019s Bad Seeds, and Peter Oxley of Sunnyboys in a labor of love.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">With his 2022 memoir <i>The Yin &amp; Yang of It All<\/i> and 2024 album <i>The Long Game<\/i>, John Faye remains a force in the Philadelphia rock scene. The Caulfields, the power-pop band he fronted in the 1990s,  has (briefly) reunited in celebration of 1995\u2019s album <i>Whirligig<\/i>. They\u2019ll play what\u2019s billed as their final show ever<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/thequeenwilmington.com\/events\/the-caulfields-x-olivia-rubini\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/thequeenwilmington.com\/events\/the-caulfields-x-olivia-rubini\/\"> at the Queen in Wilmington on Saturda<\/a>y. Olivia Rubini opens.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Bill Murray\u2019s classic rock cover band Blood Brothers is loaded with legitimate blues-rock firepower, with three ace guitarists in Mike Zito, Albert Castiglia, and Jimmy Vivino. They start a party<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.parxcasino.com\/bensalem\/xcite-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.parxcasino.com\/bensalem\/xcite-center\"> at Parx Casino on Saturday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Blue-eyed soul singer Boz Scaggs \u2014 known for hits like \u201cLowdown\u201d and \u201cLido Shuffle\u201d \u2014 recently released <i>Detour<\/i>, his first new album in seven years, which he describes as \u201ca love letter to the Great American Songbook.\u201d He makes a rare Philadelphia appearance Saturday at <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ensembleartsphilly.org\/tickets-and-events\/ensemble-arts-philly-presents\/boz-scaggs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ensembleartsphilly.org\/tickets-and-events\/ensemble-arts-philly-presents\/boz-scaggs\">Marian Anderson Hall<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Mon Rov\u00eea is Chattanooga, Tenn.-based folk musician Janjoy lowe. He takes his stage name from the capital of Liberia where he lived the first years of his life.
