Russell Crowe has revealed his weight loss secrets after struggling with arthritis in his shoulders made it difficult for him to work out.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old actor told Joe Rogan on his podcast that he went from 126kg to 100kg since he finished filming his new movie Nuremberg, which premiered this week.<\/p>\n

He said a lot of his weight loss was thanks to the expertise from wellness company Ways2Well, as well as cutting back on alcohol during the week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a big proponent for having a drink. It\u2019s my cultural heritage and as a working-class man, it\u2019s my goddamn right,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut as you get older, there are certain things you start to learn about your capacities.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that I\u2019m an older guy, I know that one night a week, if I\u2019m having fun, is plenty. I try to cut out the interstitial stuff.<\/p>\n

\u201cI try not to have casual drinks now, having a drink for the sake of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crowe said it had been hard for him to work out due to \u201cold injuries\u201d causing his shoulders to become \u201cdeeply arthritic\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, he\u2019s been getting \u201cinjections\u201d in his shoulders and knees, as well as \u201cIVs\u201d that have \u201ccalmed down his body\u2019s inflammation\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Gladiator star said ultrasounds showed his arthritis has \u201clessened by about 70 per cent\u201d since he started working with Ways2Well.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s calmed down a lot of stuff and taken a lot of pain away from me so I can work out and not have to suffer for two to three hours afterwards,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

This meant he was able to meet exercise requirements of three times a day while preparing for his role in the upcoming Highlander reboot.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat, for me, is a bad recipe. I can do that for X amount of time but once I stop I\u2019m going to stop completely. What I want to do is make all these changes long-term,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
