Dry Cleaning<\/a> have shared the second single from Secret Love<\/em><\/a>, their upcoming album due out January 9 via 4AD<\/a>. The London post-punk band returns with \u201cCruise Ship Designer<\/a>\u201d and its accompanying music video, directed by Cu\u00e1n Roche<\/a>. In the clip, bassist Lewis Maynard performs a dance routine\u2014specifically choreographed for the song by Bullyache<\/a>\u2014in sparkly leggings in front of a dark curtain. Watch the new video below.<\/p>\n Singer Florence Shaw explained the backstory of their track in a statement: \u201cThe song is about a cruise ship and hotel designer who\u2019s skilled and paid well, but who doesn\u2019t believe his role has real worth,\u201d she said. \u201cHe tries to enjoy it, and invests himself in meeting the challenges of the job.\u201d<\/p>\n Secret Love<\/em> is Dry Cleaning\u2019s third studio album, following 2023\u2019s Stumpwork<\/em><\/a>. They worked on the 11-track LP at Jeff Tweedy\u2019s Chicago studio, the Loft; at Dublin\u2019s Sonic Studios with Gilla Band\u2019s Alan Duggan and Daniel Fox; and eventually at France\u2019s remote Black Box where Le Bon recorded their album.<\/p>\n Dry Cleaning wrapped up their recent tour<\/a>, but they still have plenty of live shows on the books for next year, beginning with Rockaway Beach Festival in England on January 3.
