Per Netflix, \u201cBased on the iconic \u201990s sitcom, the sequel series centers on Deborah Wayne, the youngest daughter of Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert.\u201d<\/p>\n Felicia Pride is the showrunner and writer, and she also executive produces. Debbie Allen, who directed 83 episodes of the original series and was its primary director from 1988 to 1993, is returning and will executive produce and direct three episodes, including the pilot.
