Earlier this year, Benson Boone landed the backflip when he performed his breakout single \u201cBeautiful Things\u201d for his Grammy Awards debut as a Best New Artist nominee. What he didn\u2019t do, however, was land any nominations for his latest album American Heart<\/a> when contenders were announced for the 2026 Grammy Awards<\/a>. The pop singer addressed the snub in an Instagram Story, writing, \u201cCan\u2019t believe moonbeam ice cream didn\u2019t get a Grammy nom, it\u2019s literally pure lyrical genius.\u201d<\/p>\n Boone doesn\u2019t seem to be taking it too hard. The Recording Academy just didn\u2019t have much of a sweet tooth this year \u2014 and no one is really too sure what the moonbeam ice cream he mentions on the single \u201cMystical Magic\u201d even is.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n He could have made a case that their decision to nominate Justin Bieber\u2019s \u201cYummy\u201d for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2021 Grammys should have guaranteed him a nomination, too. Surely \u201cMoonbeam ice cream, taking off your blue jeans\/Dancing at the movies, \u2019cause it feels so mystical, magical\u201d is on parallel ground to \u201cYeah, you got that yummy-yum\/That yummy-yum, that yummy-yummy.\u201d<\/p>\n Bieber is back in the category this year with \u201cDaisies\u201d from his album Swag. Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga, and Lola Young are also up for Best Pop Solo Performance. Meanwhile, the pop album category is occupied by Bieber, Carpenter, Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Teddy Swims.<\/p>\n Boone isn\u2019t bothered. Earlier this year, he spoke with Rolling Stone<\/a> about how he has been adjusting to fame following the success of \u201cBeautiful Things.\u201d Pride was one of the main points he acknowledged as a vice. \u201cI think this year has taught me a lot of things, especially that it is incredibly easy to get carried away with my ego,\u201d he said. \u201cAfter \u2018Beautiful Things,\u2019 I was like, \u2018Dude, I can do anything.\u2019 And I can\u2019t. It\u2019s good to talk about, \u2018Hey, you know, I\u2019m not the king of the world. I\u2019m not somebody that everybody in the world knows.
