Florence Pugh<\/a> says she\u2019s had \u201cgood and bad\u201d experiences with intimacy coordinators while making movies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There to ensure sex scenes are safe and consensual, the role has become a topic of debate as they become more common during film productions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Academy Award nominee told documentarian Louis Theroux<\/a> that working with intimacy coordinators has been a mixed bag, but she understands their importance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On the Tuesday episode of Theroux\u2019s podcast,<\/a> Pugh said, \u201cIt\u2019s not to get in the way. It\u2019s not to confuse, it\u2019s not to make things more complicated or make things more awkward. It\u2019s simply to make sure that everybody is happy with what they\u2019re creating.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had good ones and bad ones,\u201d she went on, noting how the position wasn\u2019t commonplace when she started off in the industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The \u201cDune\u201d star added that while she\u2019s \u201cquite confident\u201d and \u201cquite happy in my skin,\u201d she does remember situations where filmmakers\u2019 requests felt \u201ccompletely inappropriate,\u201d and it would have been nice to have had an intimacy coordinator on set to support her.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
