On Thursday, Nov. 13, The University of Scranton is joining a nationwide Catholic public witness for immigrants. The feast day of the patron saint of all immigrants, Mother Cabrini, will be celebrated on this day. <\/p>\n
Rev. Joseph G. Marina, S.J., University president, will preside at Mass at 4:30 p.m. at The University of Scranton\u2019s Madonna Della Strada Chapel. A procession will follow downtown Scranton with a gathering and public witness on Courthouse Square (N. Washington Avenue side) to take place at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome.<\/p>\n
The event is co-sponsored by The University of Scranton, Marywood University, Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, IHM Sisters – Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton and St. Ann\u2019s Passionist Monastery. <\/p>\n
The national initiative is led by many Catholic organizations, including Jesuits ISA East, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB,) and the Ignatian Solidarity Network.<\/p>\n
