She is close to her mother Juliana Mellevold, who has been an integral part of her career and arranged interviews when she was younger, and her filmmaker stepfather Christopher Mellevold, per The Guardian. Lillis\u2019 stepdad, who is a photographer and filmmaker himself, inspired her to pursue acting when she was only seven, per WWD. She acted in a short film he made, and later enrolled in Manhattan\u2019s Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She also attended Repertory Company High School for Theatre Arts in New York. While studying acting, her teacher recommended her for a role in a New York University student film \u2013 and she hasn\u2019t looked back since.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
