According to sources, the tech billionaire is unhappy with the planned follow-up, now titled The Social Reckoning<\/strong>, and his company is threatening to sever ties with Sony Pictures.<\/p>\n Director-writer Aaron Sorkin is officially returning to the world of Facebook with The Social Reckoning, a sequel to the 2010 hit The Social Network, for which he penned the screenplay. However, according to RadarOnline<\/a>, sources claim that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is \u201cp***ed\u201d about the project and is unhappy about the film\u2019s portrayal of his company.<\/p>\n The upcoming Sony Pictures film, written and directed by Sorkin himself, is set for release in October 2026. David Fincher, who directed the original, will not return for the sequel. Sorkin\u2019s film will instead shift focus from Facebook\u2019s college dorm-room origins to the platform\u2019s real-world consequences, including its alleged role in the spread of misinformation and political unrest.<\/p>\n A source told the outlet, \u201cFacebook is p**ed and threatening Sony to withdraw from any association.\u201d Notably, the claim hasn\u2019t been confirmed.<\/p>\n The Social Reckoning will center on Facebook\u2019s modern scandals, including the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
