Josh Brolin<\/span><\/strong> continues to fuel anticipation for Sicario 3<\/span><\/strong>. Despite years of uncertainty surrounding its production, Brolin remains optimistic that the project is still on the horizon, even if fans have had to wait longer than expected.<\/p>\n While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Josh Brolin acknowledged that the wait for Sicario 3 has been longer than anyone anticipated, but confirmed that the project still exists in development.<\/p>\n \u201cI keep hearing that it\u2019s right around the corner. I know it\u2019s there. When we do it, I don\u2019t know when that is, but I know it\u2019s there,\u201d Brolin said. \u201cSo I\u2019m excited about the prospect of it, but you can\u2019t wait too long because we\u2019ll have walkers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n When asked about the delay, Brolin shared, \u201cIt\u2019s just a really big corner. There\u2019s a very small ratio on the steering wheel. At one point, I said, \u2018I don\u2019t think there\u2019s going to be a Sicario 3. I doubt it\u2019s going to happen.\u2019 And then there was all this [commotion]. Molly, [Smith] Thad, and Trent [Luckinbill] came out and said something. So I also keep hearing that it\u2019s right around the corner. I know it\u2019s there.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor has been open about the franchise\u2019s uncertain future, but his recent updates, including one on the Happy Sad Confused<\/a> podcast episode in August 2025, hint that<\/a> Sicario 3 may finally be taking shape. \u201cI mentioned at some point \u2014 I don\u2019t know, maybe just to be contrary \u2014 I was like, \u2018Yeah, [Sicario 3 is] never going to happen.\u2019 And then the producers showed up\u2026 I just heard recently that it\u2019s very, very real. So, cool,\u201d Brolin said.<\/p>\n While Sicario 3 remains without an official production date or creative team confirmation, Sicario producers Molly Smith and Thad Luckinbill of Black Label Media have also suggested that the film is close to moving forward.
