A new documentary about Tejano legend Selena Quintanilla will debut on Nov. 17 on Netflix.<\/p>\n
Directed by Isabel Castro, “Selena y Los Dinos: A Family’s Legacy” follows the life and impact of Selena and her start with the Tejano band.<\/p>\n
It premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Archival Storytelling.<\/p>\n
The documentary shows never-before-seen footage of Selena, including one-on-one interviews with her family members and former husband, Chris P\u00e9rez, according to the trailer.<\/p>\n
“For some little girl, or some little boy, somewhere dreaming, that’s what the songs are for. They’re for you,” A.B. Quintanilla III, Selena’s brother and executive producer of the documentary, says in the trailer while “Como la Flor” plays in the background.<\/p>\n
“If you have a dream, if you don’t try, you’re never going to know. So, I’m going to try,” Selena says in a voiceover at the end of the trailer while clips of her various performances take over the screen.<\/p>\n
