One of this year\u2019s most highly anticipated movies inspired Sheinelle Jones<\/a> after the death<\/a> of her husband, Uche Ojeh.<\/p>\n Jones sat down with Ariana Grande<\/a> and Cynthia Erivo<\/a> during her recent trip to London for the European premiere of Wicked: For Good<\/em><\/a>. During her interview with the actresses \u2014 which aired on the third hour of Today<\/a><\/em>\u2018s Wednesday, November 12, episode<\/a> \u2014 Jones took the chance to share how the movie touched her on a personal level.<\/p>\n \u201cYou guys both know that I am grieving, right? That I carry two things everywhere I go. I move forward, but I\u2019m also grieving,\u201d she shared. \u201cAnd when I went into the theatre to screen this movie, it was transcendent for me in a way that I didn\u2019t know I needed.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cTo see these characters be strong and brave and vulnerable, and I\u2019m sitting there thinking, \u2018Okay. If these women can do this on the screen, so can I, in my own way. I can be strong and courageous and brave.\u2019 And not just your characters, but who you are as women in real life.\u201d<\/p>\n Both Grande and Erivo appeared emotional while hearing Jones\u2019 kind words. They returned her kindness with compliments of their own, with Grande stating, \u201cWell, we thank you and we love you, and you are all of those things.\u201d<\/p>\n Erivo, for her part, added, \u201cWell, thank you for that. Thank you. We do love you very much.\u201d<\/p>\n The interview ended with both actresses standing up to share a sweet hug with Jones. Back in Today<\/em>\u2018s Studio 1A, Jones joked to her cohosts, \u201cIt turned into a hug fest, let me tell you.\u201d<\/p>\n Back in May, Savannah Guthrie<\/a> announced on Today<\/em> that Jones\u2019 husband, Ojeh, had died of brain cancer at the age of 45. Jones had been absent from the NBC morning show since December 2024 for a private family health matter. She made her return<\/a> to Today<\/em> in September, during which she thanked her colleagues and fans for their support.<\/p>\n \u201cYou guys have been my oxygen,\u201d she said to her cohosts at the time. \u201cAnd you guys at home, all the messages and prayers and I\u2019m so thankful. This is my dream, and I didn\u2019t know how I would feel Today<\/em>. But walking through 30 Rock \u2014 I felt humbled by it, and I\u2019m honored that we took this much time for me to be able to share our love story. And so, here I am.\u201d<\/p>\n Jones and Ojeh met as students at Northwestern University and got married in 2007. They went on to welcome three kids \u2014 son Kayin, 16, and twins Clara and Uche Jr., 13.
