Following an underwhelming opening for Sydney Sweeney<\/a>\u2018s latest film, Ruby Rose<\/a> blames the Christy star for the box office failure.<\/p>\n

The Batwoman alum, who said she was originally attached to play real-life boxer Christy Martin<\/a> in the biopic, reacted to the movie\u2019s $1.3M opening after Sweeney<\/a> has come under fire in recent months for her controversial American Eagle<\/a> ad, which was accused of promoting eugenics.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe original Christy Martin script was incredible. Life changing. I was attached to play Cherry,\u201d she wrote on Threads, referring to Martin\u2019s nickname. \u201cEveryone had experience with the core material. Most of us were actually gay. It\u2019s part of why I stayed in acting. Losing roles happens all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n
