Florence Pugh<\/a> isn\u2019t willing to talk about her romantic relationships anymore. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n During an appearance on \u201cThe Louis Theroux Podcast\u201d<\/a> on Monday, the \u201cDon\u2019t Worry Darling\u201d actor named her three-year relationship with Zach Braff<\/a> as the reason why she keeps certain topics off-limits with the public now. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Pugh said that there was an \u201cinsane amount of abuse being hurled at my relationship just because there was an age gap.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Pugh, now 29, and Braff, 50, have a 21-year age difference. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWith relationships and with romance in this world, it doesn\u2019t matter how much you speak on it, or how little you speak on it \u2015 people don\u2019t care. They want a story,\u201d Pugh explained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThey sort of want a reality show. And so, it doesn\u2019t really matter how much you say you love someone or how much they make you happy. If they don\u2019t like them and it doesn\u2019t fit that image that they want of you \u2015 they don\u2019t care. And I think that hurt me.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n The \u201cDune 2\u201d actor said that the online abuse \u201cgot to the point where it was just really horrible to see someone that you are with receiving that\u201d kind of hate. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAnd it was never at me, it was only at him,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I think I just needed to kind of just check everyone, and so I made a video. And it got a lot of love and lots of people were supportive, which was great. And I think people do, online, need to be reminded that we\u2019re real.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Pugh added that she \u201cstood up for him and I stood up for me just being allowed to do whatever the fuck I wanted to do.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Despite making the video, she shared that \u201cthe more you expose, the more you\u2019re allowing people to have comment on it.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n She continued, \u201cAnd if they don\u2019t know, they can\u2019t really make comment on it. <\/span>That being said, I think I\u2019ll always defend people that I love. I will always stand up for them.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Pugh has said in the past<\/a> that she only went public about her relationship with Braff because people got \u201cnasty.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI had to be public in the past because people were bullying me and bullying my partner,\u201d Pugh said in an interview with British Vogue<\/a> in 2024. \u201cMine and Zach\u2019s relationship was actually quite private until it was nasty, and I could see the toll that it was taking on him and us and our families.
