Miles Teller<\/strong>, who portrayed Reed Richards \/ Mister Fantastic in 20th Century Fox\u2019s 2015 Fantastic Four <\/strong>reboot, recently spoke about the movie\u2019s poor critical and commercial performance. He said that the movie failed because of one \u201creally important person.\u201d<\/p>\n Teller looked back on Fantastic Four\u2019s failure during a new interview with SiriusXM. When initially asked if he and other people associated with the movie knew that it \u201cwasn\u2019t great,\u201d Teller said, \u201cI think it\u2019s unfortunate for that because so many people worked so hard on that movie. He then added, \u201cHonestly, maybe there was one really important person who kind of f\u2014\u2013 it all up. Yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n The Top Gun: Maverick actor proceeded to explain why he joined the movie in the first place. \u201cEspecially as a young actor, at that time, it\u2019s like, \u2018All right, if you wanna be taken seriously as a leading man, you gotta get on this superhero train,’\u201d Teller said. \u201cAnd that was our chance, and the casting, I thought, was spectacular. I love all those actors.\u201d<\/p>\n Teller further shared, \u201cWhen I first saw the movie, I remember talking to one of the studio heads, and I was like, \u2018I think we\u2019re in trouble,’\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n Josh Trank, who helmed the 2012 found footage superhero psychological thriller movie Chronicle, directed Fantastic Four from a screenplay he penned with Jeremy Slater and Simon Kinberg.<\/p>\n The cast also includes Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm \/ Human Torch, Kate Mara as Sue Storm \/ Invisible Woman, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm \/ the Thing, and Toby Kebbell as Victor Von Doom \/ Dr. Doom. The movie underperformed at the box office and currently has a 9% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes after 260 reviews.<\/p>\n There were plans for a Fantastic Four sequel, but they didn\u2019t materialize.
