This year\u2019s student-run competition will host 16 teams from nine schools from as far as New York, Boston, Texas, and California, and include local teams from the host <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/law.tulane.edu\/entertainment-arts-law-society\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tulane University Law School\u2019s Entertainment &amp; Arts Law Society (TEALS)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/law.loyno.edu\/sports-entertainment-law-society\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Loyola University New Orleans College of Law\u2019s Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Negotiating disputes involving music, film\/TV,\u00a0and\u00a0other\u00a0entertainment-facing topics, students from top entertainment law programs will showcase their legal skillsets in front of industry professionals from around the country. Adams, a 3L at Tulane Law School, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/neworleanscitybusiness.com\/blog\/tag\/teals\/\" class=\"st_tag internal_tag \" rel=\"tag\" title=\"Posts tagged with TEALS\">TEALS<\/a> President, and co-director of the TENC. \u201cOur competitors sit across the table from the very attorneys and executives who cut these deals every day, and they leave with constructive feedback to take forward in their careers, not just hypotheticals.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Law students also leave the competition with a direct pipeline connecting ambitious law students to the very leaders who can launch their careers. Adams is a perfect example. During law school and through the connections he has made, Adams has been afforded the opportunities to intern at NBCUniversal, Create Music Group, SSP America, and with the entertainment law firm of Arrington &amp; Phillips, LLP, in Atlanta. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Through these internships, Adams has assisted attorneys in negotiations, helped draft agreements and contracts, and researched music rights for film, TV, and streaming projects.
