While it didn\u2019t reveal a great deal about the film, it did introduce us to a couple of new characters who will appear in the film: Bowser Jr, voiced by Benny Safdie, and Rosalina, voiced by Brie Larson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Fans have been quite excited to see that Rosalina would debut in the film, something they\u2019ve suspected <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/movies\/articles\/super-mario-bros-movie-just-134556057.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:ever since the title was revealed;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">ever since the title was revealed<\/a>. However, it\u2019s possible nobody is as excited as Brie Larson herself, who posted celebrations of the reveal all over her <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQ-PMyQEoT9\/?img_index=3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Instagram;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Instagram<\/a>. This included a fantastic video she shot while visiting Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe when it opened six months ago, but couldn\u2019t reveal until now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It\u2019s actually pretty hilarious to see Brie Larson at Epic Universe and realize that this was likely part of a sort of pre-PR campaign for the film. I remember thinking it was a little odd to see Larson, whose biggest franchise association <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/news\/2568737\/no-big-deal-just-brie-larson-freaking-out-visiting-disneys-avengers-campus\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:previously had her visiting Disney Parks;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">previously had her visiting Disney Parks<\/a>, at <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/visited-epic-universe-theme-park-132227974.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Universal\u2019s newest theme park;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">Universal\u2019s newest theme park<\/a>. Now it all makes sense.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Larson also made a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/articles\/didnt-know-lister-brie-larson-011711625.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:big deal out of getting her Nintendo Switch 2;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">big deal out of getting her Nintendo Switch 2<\/a> when the console was released. A video of her unlocking Rosalina in the newest version of Mario Kart is also included in the Instagram gallery above. She really has wanted to talk about this for a long time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Even as far back as the first <em>Super Mario Bros. Movie<\/em>, when Princess Peach referred to the wider galaxy, fans suspected that any (at the time theoretical) sequel might be <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/movies\/theory-what-super-mario-bros-2-movie-will-be-about\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:inspired by the two Super Mario Galaxy video games;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">inspired by the two <em>Super Mario Galaxy<\/em> video games<\/a>, and thus might include Rosalina. Exactly how Rosalina fits into it all is unclear, but fans are clearly very excited to find out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It\u2019s unclear exactly how long Brie Larson has been keeping her little secret, but voice acting for animated movies usually happens quite early, so it\u2019s probably been a while. While we don\u2019t actually hear any of Brie Larson\u2019s performance in the trailer outside of maybe a few grunts, that\u2019s hardly important. We got to see Rosalina destroy a massive machine trying to attack her, without really breaking a sweat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><em>The Super Mario Galaxy Movie<\/em> hits theaters on April 3, 2026, and we\u2019ll certainly get at least one more big trailer between now and then.
